Free event set at Harmon Center
Harmon Medical Center, 150 E. Harmon Ave., will hold its free Spring Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Services to be offered are free blood pressure screenings, blood sugar screenings, eye exams, fittings for diabetic shoes, face painting, balloons, food and prizes.
There will also be bone density testing, children's car seat checks, massages and $5 flu shots. Call 222-2284.
Kids day camp highlights schedule
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers hikes and walks free of charge, but reservations are required for all programs, which begin at the Visitors Center. To make reservations or for information call 363-1922. Some upcoming programs:
Red Rock Day Camp: The children's program will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and consists of a lunch, craft project and a hike in and around the Calicos to learn about the life cycle of an owl.
Mindful Walking: A program offered Saturday to help you tune up your mind, body and spirit with a certified yoga instructor, while warming up, walking and learning yoga breathing exercises and basic postures. Cost is $25 a session.
Coyote Kids: A family event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday featuring a hike, picnic and project.
Wildflower Walk: Learn more about Red Rock's wildflowers during this four-mile moderate hike at 1 p.m. Sunday.
Henderson group plans auction
The Boys & Girls Club of Henderson will hold its 23rd annual auction at 5 p.m. Saturday at 220 S. Water St., Henderson, featuring a silent auction, drawings, a crazy auction and the "Spirit of New Mexico" band and dancers.
Tickets are $125. Call 565-6568.
Museum plans weekend schedule
The 13th annual Invitational Native American Arts Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Clark County Museum, 1830 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
The three-day event will highlight the history and artistry of Indian arts, crafts and culture. Demonstrations will be held in dance and music along with lectures, films, fry bread, and an outdoor Arts and Crafts Market.
The art, food, music and wine
festival "Colore La Strada" will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at the County Government Center's outdoor amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. Local artists will celebrate by coloring the sidewalks with chalk in a 400-year-old tradition. Cost is $5; $3 for children ages 5 and older. Call 455-8817.
