Letter: Trail users have chance to act

The city of Las Vegas has done a great job planning a system of multi-use trails in the northwest sector of the city. After approving a plan on Jan. 16, the city is already eliminating key portions of that plan.

Now, the people who use those trails have an opportunity to stop a move to block a key portion of that trail leading to Red Rock Canyon. But they have to attend a meeting at Mountain Crest Service Center on April 15.

This requires the hikers, bicyclists, equestrians and off-road vehicle users to get off their fannies and support this trail system. They should also contact their City Council representatives.

When the trail is lost, we certainly will hear them complain, but then it will be too late.
