Sonia Bernstein
Sonia Bernstein, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Henderson. She was born Feb. 19, 1920, in New York City. A resident for 31 years, she was a retail sales manager.
She is survived by two sons, J. Michael Bernstein of Las Vegas and Lloyd M. Bernstein of Cincinnati; one sister, Marilyn of Pennsylvania; one brother, Harvey Klein of New Jersey; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. memorial service at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
The family suggests donations to Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Florene E. Brede
Florene E. Brede, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 16, 1915, in Texas. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired registered nurse.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleene Mann and Joyce Ann Jennings, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Alcenia Terrell of Texas; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is arranging private family services.
Elizabeth Caskey
Elizabeth Caskey, of Maryland died Wednesday in Maryland. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a retired Navy veteran.
She is survived by one sister, Mary Frances Klerk of Mineola, N.Y.; and one brother, Robert S. Boyd of Reno.
Sterling-Ashton-Schwab Funeral Home Inc., Catonsville, Md., handled arrangements.
Cleo Virginia Hurless
Cleo Virginia Hurless, 78, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born April 13, 1923, in Pershing, Iowa. A resident for 42 years, she was an insurance and title clerk for Chrysler Credit Corp.
She is survived by two sons, Parker E. Hurless of Las Vegas and Terry P. Hurless of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Wednesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
Arthur L. Krumheuer
Arthur L. Krumheuer, 83, of Mesquite died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 6, 1918, in Moccasin, Mont. A resident for 7 1/2 years, he was a retired farmer.
He is survived by two daughters, Bernice Courtney of Mesquite and Susan Hammatt of Valentine, Mont.; two sons, Jack Krumheuer of Billings, Mont., and Tony Krumheuer of Mesquite; four sisters, Ethel Quenelle of Great Falls, Mont., Leola Blake and Bette Gite, both of Windham, Mont., and Shirley Herrin of Las Vegas; two brothers, Raymond Krumheuer of Valentine and Dale Krumheuer of Hemet, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be in Lewiston, Mont. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Arthritis Foundation of Nevada, 2450 Chandler Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89120.
Ernest J. Lewis Sr.
Ernest J. Lewis Sr., 75, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 23, 1927, in Connecticut. A resident for four years, he was a retired metrology lab technician, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by one son, Ernest J. Lewis Jr.; three daughters, Doreen Lewis and Dawn Lewis, both of Pennsylvania, and Anita Lewis of Connecticut; one brother, Ernest F. Lewis, and one sister, Frances, both of Connecticut; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be one hour prior to noon services Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Rose Pecora
Rose Pecora, 84, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Dec. 3, 1917, in New York.
She is survived by two sons, Jan Pecora of New York and Chris Pritchard of Las Vegas.
Burial will be in Staten Island, N.Y. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Ella Louise Robertson
Ella Louise Robertson, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born June 22, 1920, in Hillsboro, Texas. A resident for 33 years, she was a drug and alcohol counselor.
She is survived by one brother, James Robertson of California; and two sisters, Erma Johnson and Lorraine Davis, both of Las Vegas.
Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Amy Amilia Piro Stewart
Amy Amilia Piro Stewart, 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 23, 1926, in Cleveland. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired property manager.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda Carol Stewart of Marina Del Rey, Calif.; two sons, Gregory William Stewart of Venice, Calif., and Shaun John Stewart of Marina Del Rey; one sister, Jay Gillete of Pennsylvania; one brother, Sam Piro of Victorville, Calif.; and one grandchild.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.
The family suggests donations to National Resources Defense Council, 40 W. 20th St., New York, NY 10011.
Gertrude Sturgeon
Gertrude Sturgeon, 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Henderson. An assembler, she was born July 16, 1922, in Lake Linden, Mich.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; one son, Raymond Sturgeon, and one daughter, Madonna Sturgeon, both of Nevada; one brother, Fredrick Kirschweng; three sisters, Veronica DeRoche, Gloria Pippin and Patricia Zurawski, all of Michigan; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.
