StumbleSmoot new volunteer assistant for Rebels

Kevin Smoot has been named the volunteer assistant coach for the UNLV baseball program. A former relief ace for Central Michigan University, Smoot joins the Rebels after serving two seasons as a volunteer assistant at CMU.
Smoot pitched four years for Central Michigan, posting a career mark of 5-7 with an ERA of 5.19 and four saves. He was 0-2 with two saves and an ERA of 2.45 in 1999.
The Rebels began fall practice this week at Earl E. Wilson Stadium on campus.
