Letter: Give children chance to give to relief effort
Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001 | 8:59 a.m.
This year, in view of our new struggle, instead of buying old bags of candy that have been saved year after year until they are sold, I am buying rolls of nickels to pass out to the trick-or-treaters, and telling them to donate them to worthy causes, like the Red Cross.
I'm sure our kids don't need the candy.
This will make them feel great that they are involved in helping people, and are united with the rest of our country in this battle.
We are all in this together, including our children.
