SUN CAPITAL BUREAU
CARSON CITY -- Gov. Kenny Guinn will deliver a statewide television address 6:05 p.m. today on Nevada's economy since the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington.
KVBC Channel 3 and Las Vegas ONE, Cox channels 1 and 39, will carry the 12-minute speech live. It will originate in the governor's office in Carson City.
Guinn will talk about how the uncertain economy has affected Nevada's unemployment numbers and the tax revenue flowing into the state treasury.
Unemployment claims last week rose to 5,000, up from the usual 2,700 to 2,800 filed each week. Guinn has already put a hold on filling 87 jobs to be created Oct. 1.
