CARSON CITY -- Greg Bortolin, assistant director of communications at the University of Nevada, Reno, has been appointed press secretary to Gov. Kenny Guinn, succeeding Jack Finn, who resigned to enter private industry.
Bortolin, 38, will take over Oct. 8. In his present job he has been a spokesman and handled media issues for the university.
Before joining the university, he was a sports writer for the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno.
Bortolin will earn $90,000 a year.
