Glen Dale Bearden

Glen Dale Bearden, 49, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 6, 1951, in Sunnyvale, Calif. A resident for 15 years, he was a truck driver and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Tony Bearden of Central Point, Ore.; his fiancee, Wendy Lewis of Las Vegas; his father, Glen N. Bearden of Canby, Calif.; one sister, Billie Sue Shepherd of Sunnyvale; one brother, Robert Bearden of Washington, D.C.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Cacilia D. Blanchette

Cacilia D. Blanchette, 63, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 6, 1937, in Kuebelberg, Germany. A resident of Las Vegas for 20 years and a resident of Henderson for one year, she was a homemaker,

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Dennis; one son, Ralph Mathieu of Las Vegas; three daughters, Michelle Blanchette and Christine Kludasch, both of Las Vegas, and Alexandria Blanchette of Henderson; four sisters, Gerlinde, Annemarie, Ursula and Helga, and one brother, Josef, all of Germany; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled at 9 a.m. Nov. 6 at St. Rose Dominican Hospital, 102 E. Lake Mead Drive, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Carolyn Buswell

Carolyn Buswell, 68, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 10, 1933, in Kansas. A resident for 12 years, she was a typesetter in the graphics arts department at UNLV for 12 years and worked on a church newspaper.

She is survived by her husband, Bernard; three daughters, Kim Plassmeyer of Pahrump and Linday Ray and Helen Johnson, both of Las Vegas; one son, Benard Buswell of Texas; her father, Carl Stander, and three sisters, Gayla, Laurel and Irene, all of Kansas; two brothers, Wayne Stander of Kansas and Norman Stander of Missouri; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Oct. 6 in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road.

Thomas Tuttle Cattell

Thomas Tuttle Cattell, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 23, 1929, in Palo Alto, Calif. A resident for 12 years, he was a chaplain for North Las Vegas Police for 10 years, worked for an electronics manufacturer, was a Korean War Air Force veteran and a member of the Gideons.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen; two sons, Mark Cattell of Huntington Beach, Calif., and David Cattell of Las Vegas; two daughters, Lorraine Coulter of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Jo Cobb of Arcadia, Calif.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Spring Meadows Presbyterian Church, 1600 E. Oakey Blvd. Valley Memorial Crematory, 4855 W. Desert Inn Road, is handling arrangements.

Magda Clay

Magda Clay, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 25, 1922, in Hungary. A resident for 48 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Robert Clay of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Felino Cristi

Felino Cristi, 80, of Las Vegas and New York City died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 1, 1921, in the Philippines. A part-time Las Vegas resident for five years, he was a retired shipper and packer for a pharmaceutical company and a member of the Knights of Columbus in the Philippines.

He is survived by his wife, Felicitas; five daughters, Elnora Cristi-Gordon, Elvira Cristi and Marilyn Cristi-Santos, all of New York City, Flor Ann Cristi-King of Chicago and Bernadette Cristi-Kricheff of Old Tappan, N.J.; three sons, Brando Cristi and Wilfredo Cristi, both of Las Vegas, and Marlon Cristi of New York City; one brother; four sisters; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Patricia Vincent King Dodge

Patricia Vincent King Dodge, 58, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 21, 1942, in Greenville, S.C. A resident for 23 years, she was a reservations clerk for Imperial Palace and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her husband, Allen; one son, Paul Wortham of Las Vegas; one daughter, Deborah Colbert of El Paso, Texas; one brother, Edward King of Albuquerque, N.M.; and six grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in Christ Episcopal Church, 2100 S. Maryland Parkway. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Beverly A. Eccles

Beverly A. Eccles, 58, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 26, 1943, in York, N.J. A resident for 16 years, she was an environmental health specialist, a member of the Eagles Auxiliary 2672 and active in the Nevada Environmental Health Association.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence A.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Edith Kelly Eckley

Edith Kelly Eckley, 83, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. She was born June 20, 1918, in Pelican, La. A resident for 57 years, she was a retired Washoe County School District teacher, a member of the Eastern Star, Adah Chapter in Reno, Order of the Nile, Alpha Delta Kappa and the Nevada State Retired Teachers Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Mast of Las Vegas and Katherine Bilyeu of Lebanon, Ore.; one son, Paul Eckley of Salem, Ore.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ola Mae Gaston

Ola Mae Gaston, 73, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born June 23, 1928, in Marietta, Texas. A resident for six months, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by five brothers, Vernon Nickleberry of Marietta, Olin Nickleberry of Corsicana, Texas, Maurice Nickleberry of Dallas, Joe Nickleberry of Fort Worth, Texas, and Benny Nickleberry of Los Angeles; and one sister, Lois Warren of North Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in California.

Richard Gavrys

Richard Gavrys, 75, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Illinois. A resident for 18 years, he was a railroad maintenance man and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Craig Gavrys of Romeoville, Ill., Richard Gavrys of New Jersey and Thom Gavrys of Las Vegas; two daughters, Pat Monson of Las Vegas and Linda Odem of Plainfield, Ill.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Romeoville. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Joe Gay

Joe Gay, 58, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 3, 1942, in Charleston, S.C. A resident for three years, he was a slot technician.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy; five sons, Shad Gay, Shannon Gay, Sean Gay and Shane Gay, all of California, and Johnny Gall of Alabama; one daughter, Debbie Eisenhower, and one sister, Melanie Gay-Bouchet, both of California; and three grandchildren.

Leslie N. Goodlet

Leslie N. Goodlet, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 11, 1934, in Michigan. A resident for many years, he was an assembly worker for an automotive firm.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche; and one daughter, Debra A. Seibert of Fox Lake, Ill.

Bruce Benton Grant

Bruce Benton Grant, 75, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Leesville, La. A resident for 18 years, he was a barber and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Gerald Grant of Georgetown, Texas; eight sisters, Ruth Yvonne Tringali of Chicago, Johnnie Fay Cangelosi and Sandra Elaine Bennett, both of Las Vegas, Maxie Lee Sineath of Savannah, Ga., Era Dale Kendall of Orangevale, Calif., Myrna Loy Grant of Los Angeles, Ardeth Bonita Goldfarb of Boulder, Colo., and Beverly Darlene McGraw of Merced, Calif.; and two brothers, Laverne Carrie Grant of Los Angeles and Delvan Verlon of Lakeland, Fla.

Vada Frances Grinnell

Vada Frances Grinnell, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born June 11, 1925, in Shreveport, La. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker and was retired.

She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn M. Soteros and Kathy F. Schneider, both of Las Vegas; three sons, David Mathew Grinnell of San Fernando, Calif., Joseph Charles Grinnell of Yuba, Calif., and Michael Eldon Grinnell of Palmdale, Calif.; one brother, Robert Eldon McDowell of Oxnard, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Richard D. Gulick

Richard D. Gulick, 57, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 29, 1944, in California. A resident for eight years, he was a carpenter, a member of the Henderson Elks and Henderson/Black Mountain Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; five daughters, Corrie Fitzgerald of Springfield, Ore., Tammy Smith of Elk Grove, Calif., Kathy Feninger of Ashland, Ore., Karen Wofford of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Jeane Dausch of Albany, N.Y.; one son, Daniel Stadler of Henderson; his parents, Shirley and Eugene Gulick of Stockton, Calif.; two sisters, Barbara Stacher of Stockton, Calif., and Debra Mobley of San Diego; and one brother, Alan Gulick of Elk Grove.

Mary Elizabeth Halter

Mary Elizabeth Halter, 81, of Orem, Utah, died Saturday in Orem. She was born June 9, 1920, in Omaha, Neb. A former Las Vegas resident, she was a campaign manager for former state Sen. Helen Herr and chairwoman of the Nevada AFL-CIO.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; three daughters, Judie Jones of Orem, Bonnie Manson of Las Vegas and Monica Welch of Pahrump; two sons, Richard McDermott and Timothy McDermott, both of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services and burial will be in Orem. Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, Orem, is handling arrangements.

Walter E. Holstad

Walter E. Holstad, 94, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 9, 1907, in Lake Mills, Iowa. A resident for 47 years, he was a retired vice president of Nevada Beverage Co., a member of the Masons for more than 60 years, a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Las Vegas and Zelzah Shrine Temple and an active Rotarian.

He is survived by two sisters, Effie Harper and Helen Weitz, both of Oregon; two brothers, Delmar Holstad of South Carolina and Vernon Holstad of California; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Tok Hwang, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 17, 1920, in Korea. A resident for 23 years, she was a hotel laundry worker.

She is survived by one daughter, Myong Umbenhower of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Carrice 'Renee' Jordan-Davis

Carrice "Renee" Jordan-Davis, 41, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 12, 1960, in Monroe, La. A resident for 37 years, she was a certified nursing assistant at Nathan Adelson Hospice.

She is survived by her husband, Cleveland; three daughters, Edna Carrice Jackson and Kristie LaSun Jackson-Washington, both of North Las Vegas, and Alexus Davis of North Carolina; two sons, Wesley Donte Wiley of North Las Vegas and Marcellus Davis of North Carolina; her parents, Albert and Louise Jordan of North Las Vegas; two brothers, Eric R. Jordan of Las Vegas and Kenneth Jordan of North Las Vegas; two sisters, Stephanie S. Hall of North Las Vegas and Aretha Harden of Las Vegas; and her grandmother, Mary C. Hatcher of Jena, La.

Ollie O. Marshal

Ollie O. Marshal, 90, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 18, 1910, in Caddo, Okla. A resident for three years, he was a retired oil pumper.

He is survived by his wife, Eu Jay; one daughter, Patsy G. Norton of Las Vegas; one son, Dale Marshall of Vernal, Utah; one brother, L.L. "Turk" Marshall of Kermit, Texas; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Burial will be in Ranger, Texas. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Ronald Joseph Ortega

Ronald Joseph Ortega, 39, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 30, 1962, in Las Vegas. A resident for 39 years, he was a vacuum cleaner sales representative and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his mother, Nellie Montoya of Hawaii; his father and stepmother, Harold and Bernice Ortega, of Las Vegas; one daughter, Clarisa Ortega of California; two brothers, Robert Ortega of Henderson and Leo Ortega of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Della Klerberg and Tandra Ortega, both of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Central Christian Church, 1001 New Beginning Drive, Henderson.

Frances E. Paul

Frances E. Paul, 47, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born Oct. 12, 1953, in Japan. A resident for three years, she was a nurse at Desert Springs Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Robert S.; one daughter, Andrea Nunes of Tucson; one son, Kip Hoadley of Mesa, Ariz.; one brother, Larry Wynn Jr. of Idaho; and four grandchildren.

Judy M. Reece

Judy M. Reece, 58, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 12, 1943, in California. A resident for 37 years, she was a hotel audit clerk.

Stella L. Rizzo, 94, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 7, 1907, in New York City. A resident for 10 years, she owned a hand embroidery company.

She is survived by one daughter, Marie Vitolo of Las Vegas; two sons, Frank Loschiavo of Boca Raton, Fla., and Anthony Loschiavo of New York; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Loretta Dolores Rondini

Loretta Dolores Rondini, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 19, 1932, in Camden, N.J. A resident for 45 years, she was a retired church secretary.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Rondini of Austin, Texas, and Christopher Rondini of Las Vegas; one daughter, Michelle Hnatuick of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Margaret L. Rux

Margaret L. Rux, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Evansville, Ind. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired executive secretary for a shoe company and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one son, Greg Rux of Las Vegas; three sisters, Ella Cobb and Mamie Cline, both of Evansville, Ind., and Juanita Powell of San Diego; and two grandchildren.

Pete Savalli, 56, of Henderson died Saturday in Las Vegas. A waiter, he was born April 22, 1945, in Phoenix.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; one daughter, Rachael Savalli, and one brother, Samuel Savalli, both of Henderson; one sister, Janet Sue Savalli of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Ernest Vincent Shimp

Ernest Vincent Shimp, 87, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 28, 1914, in Pittsfield, Mass. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired Air Force inspector general and World War II and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; four sons, Paul Shimp, Steven Shimp and Mike Shimp, all of Las Vegas, and Roger Shimp of Goldfield; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Thaddeus Arthur Smith

Thaddeus Arthur Smith, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 22, 1919, in Superior, Wis. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired manager for an aeronautical engineering firm.

He is survived by three daughters, Nancy Waters of San Pedro, Calif., Melinda Harnish of Reno and Candace Richardson of Sacramento; one son, Tom Smith of Simi Valley, Calif.; two brothers, Leonard C. Smith Jr. of Fraser, Mich., and David J. Smith of Rochester Hills, Mich.; one sister, Jean Hollingsworth of California; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Christopher D. Sullivan, 63, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 6, 1937, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for 29 years, he was a real estate broker, a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus and Sons of Erin.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; two daughters, Elana Pitaro of Las Vegas and Cassy Salmon of Douglas, Ariz.; two sons, Chris Sullivan and Duke Sullivan, both of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

Vicky Zwicker, 55, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born Aug. 14, 1946, in Cambridge, Mass. A resident for eight years, she was a hotel waitress.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; two sons, Ron Zwicker Jr. and Jason Zwicker, both of Wilmington, Mass.; and one grandchild.
