Las Vegas concrete, quarry operation sold for $24 million

CSR Ltd.'s Rinker Materials Corp. said it acquired for $24 million Hanson PLC's concrete and quarry operations in the Las Vegas area.

The deal includes two quarries with total annual sales of 2.7 million tons, five pre-mix concrete plants and nearly 200 concrete and aggregate trucks, said a statement from Sydney, Australia-based CSR.

The combined annual production including Rinker's existing Las Vegas operation will be more than 4 million tons of aggregate and 1.5 million cubic yards of concrete, the statement said. Hanson is based in London.
