Letter: Sanction the sympathizers
Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001 | 7:43 a.m.
Our most effective retaliation would be to suspend foreign aid to any and all countries who are sympathetic to terrorist organizations. In an open letter to the world, we need to state that terrorism shall be dealt with in the harshest manner. Any country that buries its head and allows terrorists to exist within their borders shall face economic sanctions, including suspension of foreign aid.
Countries that participate in terrorist actions shall face military retaliation as well. We need to declare war on terrorism and we need to strike quickly while the world is sympathetic to our cause. President Bush should hold dialogue with the Taliban leaders of Afghanistan and demand that they extradite Osama bin Ladin to the United States.
We are fairly certain he is behind the terrorist acts of Sept. 11. We are most certain he is the mastermind behind terrorist acts of yesteryear. Should Afghanistan refuse to help, we will extricate him ourselves. They can choose to assist us or face our military might should they choose to obstruct us. We need to take charge and demonstrate to the world that neither individual nor country shall impede our will as a democratic country. God Bless America.
