There was not a word, not a breath that day we went to bed and awoke to a different world.
Our innocence has been changed now and maybe we cannot walk so naively as we once did.
The world's pain is ours now, our children the inheritors as much as in Israel or Palestine.
Today there was dust and smoke and ash in our streets.
Today heroes died, real, true heroes. We are left with this dust and ash and smoke and blood and somehow will rebuild and resolve to live, knowing a bit more about the world we live in.
