Performers unite in aftermath

Local entertainers are uniting in a show of patriotism and humanity in the aftermath of Tuesday's terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C.
At 3 p.m. today a patriotism-themed radio show hosted by singer Dennis Bono was to be taped at Sunset Station's Club Madrid, to air at 7 p.m. Friday on KJUL-FM, 104.3.
Many of the entertainers who were to appear on Bono's program will meet tonight to organize a benefit for the victims and survivors of the attacks.
Among those involved in the local show of support and aid are impressionist Bill Acosta, a headliner at the Flamingo; singer Clint Holmes, headliner at Harrah's; magician Lance Burton from the Monte Carlo; and Frank Scinta, member of The Scintas at the Rio.
"The taping today will be a 'God Bless America'-type show with guests doing patriotic-type songs," Jeanne Bavaro, manager and producer for Acosta, said. "Bill will sing 'Bring him Home' from 'Les Miserebles' and the others will sing those types of things."
