Letter: Nevada Power caters to business while we pay
Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001 | 8:43 a.m.
Nevada Power Co. is handing out rebate checks to big businesses that are reducing their energy consumption by replacing old lights with new efficient ones.
Palace Station recently pocketed $25,000 in the form of a rebate check. Other companies have received $350 to $25,000 under their "Project Take Control."
That's funny. I've cut back almost 50 percent at my house and discontinued using some items that use a lot of power and I haven't received a rebate check from Nevada Power yet.
In fact, my power bill just keeps going up. But I forgot, Nevada Power treats big corporations and casinos differently than the average homeowner. Are you getting mad at the utilities yet?
