Metro releases sketch of suspect

Metro Police have released a sketch of a suspect in the Aug. 24 slaying of a 53-year-old man who was shot to death while watering his plants.

Richard Wood was in his front yard at his home in the 5800 block of Via Manigua, near Green Valley Parkway and Russell Road, when shots were fired at him from a car, police said. The driver of the car is described as a white man between 30 and 40 with dark hair. The passenger is described as a white man between 50 and 60 with gray hair.

The car is described as a light blue, four-door compac, possibly a Hyundai, with Nevada handicap license plates.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspects is asked to call police at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.

Police seek help in finding robber

Henderson Police are asking for the public's help in finding the robber in a slot machine coin truck heist last month.

The man is described as white in his mid to late 20s, and was last seen wearing a baseball cap and a blue shirt with a yellow logo on back.

The robbery happened about 9:30 p.m. in front of Rae's Restaurant & Lounge, 2531 E. Wigwam Parkway, police said.

Police said a United Coin employee had finished his slot machine rounds at the restaurant and was walking to his truck when he was pepper-sprayed by the robber, who took an undisclosed amount of cash.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call police at 565-2353 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.

Eggs, flour not listed

ConAgra Grocery Products is recalling about 290,000 pounds of chicken and rice soup because the label doesn't reveal that it may contain eggs and wheat flour -- two common allergens.

The product being recalled is 18-ounce cans of "Healthy Choice Soups, Chicken with Rice." Each can bears the establishment number "P91" inside the USDA seal of inspection and a product code beginning with "08NG."

Consumers with questions about the recall may contact ConAgras consumer hot line at (800) 414-2500.
