Nevada Earthquake Safety Council honors UNLV professor, reporter

The Nevada Earthquake Safety Council has presented Awards for Excellence to Jim O'Donnell, an adjunct professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Las Vegas Sun reporter Mary Manning.
O'Donnell was honored for his research and education in developing the high school amateur seismologist program, which will install software and sensors throughout Nevada.
Manning was recognized for attendance and reporting on the Nevada Earthquake Safety Council meetings and activities and enhancing public awareness of earthquake hazards in the Las Vegas Valley.
