Letter: Bush is ignorant on immigration

I happened to catch President Bush on the afternoon news Thursday, right after an excerpt from Mexican President Vicente Fox's address to Congress. Bush proclaimed, in his usual smiling manner, why not let immigrants in to do the jobs no one else wants to do.

Whom are you speaking for? Is this really the problem here? Or is the wage for these jobs the issue! I am a housekeeper and know full well that cheaper help than me can be found to wash your floors and clean your toilets. Since moving here from New England, my wages have been cut in half because so much cheap help is available, but I like my job!

Is the solution more immigrants? Mr. President, I really wonder if you can see the Big Human Picture, or like so many politicians, can't see past the benefits to yourself and those who got you elected. Please add me to the growing list of people you have offended, and not represented.
