Don Giardina has been named assistant coach for the UNLV women's track & field and cross country programs as announced by UNLV head coach Karen Dennis.
Giardina, a successful high school coach in the state of Arizona, joins the Rebels after serving as head boys cross country coach at Horizon High School in Scottsdale for four years. There, he guided his team to two State 5A Championships in 1998 and 1999 and was named Arizona Coach of the Year in both seasons.
