Oscar Thomas Abdoulah
Oscar Thomas Abdoulah, 71, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born April 4, 1930, in Saskatchewan. A resident for 10 years, he was a businessman.
He is survived by his wife, Georgina; four daughters, Pam Campbell and Janice Shwetz, both of Henderson, Linda Hiebert of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Colleen Abdoulah of Denver; one son, Michael Abdoulah of Las Vegas; one brother, Phil Abdoulah of Phoenix; four sisters, Helen Abraham of New Richland, Minn., Mickey Razek of Cleveland, Mae Abdoulah of Las Vegas and Joanne Nikolou of Regina, Saskatchewan; and nine grandchildren.
A trisagion service will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday and a visitation will follow until 8:30 p.m. in St. Paul the Apostle Orthodox Church, 5400 Annie Oakley Drive. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Paul the Apostle Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Ernest Acosta
Ernest Acosta, 62, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 16, 1938, in Mount Harris, Colo. A resident for 11 years, he was a bricklayer and a member of Local 226.
He is survived by his wife, Flora; two daughters, Gail Acosta and Lana Acosta, both of Las Vegas; three sisters, Margaret McMahon and Lillian Ortiz, both of Albuquerque, and Rose Haase of Carl Junction, Mo.; one brother, Bill Acosta of Cucamonga, Calif.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St., with an open house following at 3750 Florrie Ave. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Miyoko 'Mickey' Ashley
Miyoko "Mickey" Ashley, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A resident for 30 years, she was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Osaka, Japan.
She is survived by one sister, Tsurue Shinozaki of Osaka.
No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Japan. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Mildred Joy Brugman
Mildred Joy Brugman, 57, of Livermore, Calif., died Saturday in Livermore. She was born March 16, 1944, in Las Vegas. A former Las Vegas resident, she was an employee for 23 years at Reynolds Electrical and Engineering Co., and a volunteer at St. Michael's School.
She is survived by her husband, Vaughn Paul; one son, Mathew Vaughn; one daughter, Elizabeth Joy; three brothers, Neal Brundy of Las Vegas, Charles Brundy of Idaho and Don Brundy,
Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Callaghan Mortuary, Livermore, is handling arrangements.
Anneliese Buckingham
Anneliese Buckingham, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 7, 1920, in Germany. A resident for 50 years, she was a Nye County deputy sheriff.
Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to 11 a.m. services Friday in Memory Gardens Chapel, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Burial will follow. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Ila R. Cohen
Ila R. Cohen, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A resident for 21 years, she was born May 19, 1924, in Chicago.
She is survived by one son, Allen Cohen of Las Vegas; one daughter, Randi Fried of Long Beach, Calif.; one brother, Jack Brody of Los Angeles; two sisters, Rosalie Grinstain of Orange, Calif., and Wilma Stein of San Fernando Valley, California; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Roy E. Evans Sr.
Roy E. Evans Sr., 79, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 7, 1921, in Missouri. A resident for 38 years, he was a sales engineer for Tiberti Fence Co., a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Las Vegas Southwest Rotary Club, Elks and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred N.; two daughters, Sharon K. Cahlan of Pahrump and Margaret A. Thomas of Garden Valley, Idaho; one son, Roy E. Evans Jr. of Booneville, Mo.; one sister, Margaret J. Kruger of Shawnee Mission, Kan.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Graveside services will be noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Curtis D. Geddings
Curtis D. Geddings, 76, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born May 7, 1925, in Greenville, S.C. A resident for 33 years, he was a retired Air Force airman first class, World War II and Korean War veteran and a retired member of Teamsters Local 631.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita I.; five sons, Larry Geddings of Elkmont, Ala., and David Geddings, Richard Geddings, Steven Geddings and Daniel Geddings, all of Henderson; one sister, Thelma Einkles of Huntsville, Ala.; one brother, Daris Geddings of Elkmont; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Claudia Gail George, 70, of Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. She was born July 28, 1931, in San Diego. A resident for one year, she was a retired hospital nurse's aide.
She is survived by one son, Tom George of Grand Junction, Colo.; two daughters, Wanda George Sears of Lyndon, Vt., and Ellen George McGroven of Bremerton, Wash.; and two sisters, Ellen Galway Mullinax and Helen Galway Klemp, both of Las Vegas.

Eleanore C. Hawthorne, 71, of Henderson died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 8, 1930, in Clifton, N.J. A resident for many years, she was a waitress.
She is survived by one daughter, Diane Hatt of Littleton, Colo.; and one son, John Uhlendorf of Florida.

Rosalie Hoffman, 44, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born May 11, 1957, in Italy. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; one daughter, Tiffany Hoffman, three sons, Donald Hoffman, Phillip Hoffman and Justin Hoffman, her parents, Phillip and Teresa Arena, and one sister, Mary Arena, all of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Esperanza Rocha Houchen
Esperanza Rocha Houchen, 74, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born April 19, 1927, in Mexico. A resident for 45 years, she was a hairdresser and owner of a beauty salon.
She is survived by one son, Jeff Houchen, one daughter, Angelica Borg, and one sister, Roberta Robledo, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Clara Mae Howard
Clara Mae Howard, 71, of North Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 7, 1930, in Montezuma, Ga. A resident for nine years, she was an assemblyman and teletyper.
She is survived by her husband, James; four daughters, Jacqueline Taylor, Malcena Howard and Jeweldene Rivers, all of Bellwood, Ill., and Krystal Willey of Las Vegas; five sons, Gerald Howard of Jackson, Miss., Ferris Howard of Maywood, Ill., Barry Howard of Cedar Hill, Texas, Christopher Howard of Las Vegas and Cletis Howard of Forest Park, Ill.; three sisters, Zella Mills of Miami and Elois Nicholson and Elizabeth Larry, both of Montezuma; one brother, J.C. Thornton of Montezuma; 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 5:30 p.m. today in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. Burial will be in Illinois. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Vera Louise Judd
Vera Louise Judd, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 16, 1912, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 39 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Stanley Reid Judd; one daughter, Beverly Gibbs of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; three sons, Sid Judd and Gary Judd, both of Las Vegas and Steve Judd of San Jose, Calif.; one sister, Ruth Yarbough of Long Beach, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Additional visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Thursday in the LDS Celeste Ward chapel. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Michael Killian, 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 14, 1943, in Salt Lake City. A resident for nine months, he was a laborer.
He is survived by one brother, Doug Killian of Salt Lake City.

Ella May Kloos, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 30, 1928, in Ohio. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

Angelo C. Nicosia
Angelo C. Nicosia, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 3, 1919, in New York City. A resident for 23 years, he was a carpenter for a New York City construction company and an Army veteran who was captured during the Battle of the Bulge. He and his wife, Anna, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 4.
He is survived by his wife, Anna; three sons, Salvatore Nicosia of Monticello, N.Y., Louis Nicosia of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Thomas Nicosia of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be 6 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary's Meadows State Room, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 9 a.m. Thursday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Harold Robert Paulson
Harold Robert Paulson, 83, of Las Vegas died Aug. 6 in Las Vegas. He was born March 29, 1918, in Wisconsin. A resident for 10 years, he was an automotive mechanic and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Irene; one son, Brad of Washington state; three daughters, Brenda of Las Vegas and Susan and Laurie, both of Wisconsin; four brothers; one sister; and five grandchildren.

Edwin Randolph Read, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 16, 1934, in Dallas. A resident for six years, he was a retired security officer and a Korean War and Vietnam War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine; three daughters, Toni Lungquist and Susan Sloans, both of Washington state, and Tina Read of Missouri; one son, Edwin Read Jr. of Washington state; and seven grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; one son, Shawn Robinson; one daughter, Michelle Williams; her parents, Howard and Marjorie Fiedler; one brother, Robert Fiedler; and five grandchildren.

James Lee Rose, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born July 20, 1925, in Hutchinson, Kan. A resident for 63 years, he was a draftsman and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his companion, Emily Gray of Las Vegas; one son, John Rose of Henderson; two daughters, Joan Rapp of Indio, Calif., and Candace Rose of Silver Springs; one brother, Mel Rains of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; one daughter, Mary Smithers, and two sons, Noel Smithers and Gene Smithers, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Ruby Busby of Pasadena, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Gretchen Lee Varner, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born July 15, 1912, in Rochelle, Texas. A resident for three months, she was an elementary school teacher.
She is survived by one daughter, Verda Varner of Las Vegas; one son, Bentley Varner of Greeley, Colo.; one brother, Webb Bentley of Santa Clarita, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-6 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.
Donald G. Weitz
Donald G. Weitz, 76, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Wapakoneta, Ohio. A resident for 56 years, he was a sheet metal worker and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Fern; two sons, Donald G. Weitz Jr. and Steven R. Weitz, both of Henderson; one brother, Edwin Weitz of Ohio; one sister, Ann Tremble of Texas; and five grandchildren.
