Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2001 | 10:41 a.m.

SUN STAFF AND WIRE REPORTS

WASHINGTON -- President Bush this week said he plans to nominate Daniel Bogden of Reno to be U.S. attorney for Nevada.

Bogden is interim U.S. attorney for the state and has been an assistant U.S. attorney for 11 years.

Bush on Tuesday announced his selection of Bogden, 45, as one of 13 U.S. attorney nominations he plans to make. The Senate must confirm the nominations.

Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., recommended Bogden to Bush. Ensign has called him a "tenacious litigator." Bogden would replace U.S. Attorney Kathryn Landreth, a Democratic appointee.
