The Davidoff Nations Cup, played recently in Malaysia, determined the final six teams for the 2001 World Golf Championship-EMC World Cup.

China, which won the event, will be joined by teams from Malaysia, Norway, Mexico, the Philippines and Holland in making up the World Cup field of 24 two-man teams.

The EMC World Cup will be held Nov. 15-18 at The Taiheiyo Club's Gotemba Course at Shizuoka, Japan.

Players qualified for this year's EMC World Cup by virtue of their standings in the Official World Golf Ranking. The highest-ranked available players representing 18 countries automatically qualified.

Following are the 18 seeded nations: USA, Tiger Woods and David Duval; South Africa, Ernie Els and Retief Goosen; Fiji, Vijay Singh and Dinesh Chand; Spain, Sergio Garcia and Miguel Angel Jiminez, as well as the teams representing Ireland, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, Argentina, Sweden, Japan, Wales, Australia, Scotland, England, Zimbabwe, Paraguay and France.

Format the first day of play was two-person scramble on the front nine and alternate shot on the back; the second day was best-ball on the front and combined net on the back.

Winning the A flight was the PPC pairing of Davene Forche and Kathi Johnson, while B flight honors were garnered by the pairing of Frances Annotti and Jo Anne Lowe from Canyon Gate.

Closest-to-the-pin honors in the A flight were shared by Carol Skarda and Lynne Haas, who both had the rare distinction of acing the par-3, 85-yard 17th hole. B flight winner was Frances Annotti.
