Channel 10 plans program Thursday

KLVX Channel 10 will broadcast the station's first "JobQuest," a 90-minute live program at 8 p.m. Thursday.

The program will mix elements of a traditional job fair with information that unemployed individuals can use to get back into the work force. Representatives from the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, social services agencies, nonprofit organizations, job referral and credit counseling services will be on hand to answer questions, and hundreds of job openings will be listed.

UMC will host seminar in Henderson

University Medical Center's Silver Advantage program will sponsor a safety seminar for seniors 50 and older at 7 p.m. Monday at Desert Willow Community Center, 2020 Horizon Ridge Road, Henderson.

Members of UMC's Trauma Department will discuss ways seniors can prevent injuries and increase safety inside and outside the home. Tips on driver and pedestrian safety and medication use will also be discussed.

Boggs McDonald to hear residents

Councilwoman Lynette Boggs McDonald will host several neighborhood meetings in November at which residents are invited to discuss important issues involving Ward 2.

Nov. 5: 6:30 p.m., Veterans Memorial Leisure Service Center, 101 S. Pavilion Center Dr., Summerlin area.
