Letter: Son paying for sins of father
Monday, Oct. 29, 2001 | 8:50 a.m.
The desire in 1991 by President George Bush to complete a war on a historical cliche, namely "The Hundred Hour War," has now come home to haunt his son and our nation.
Instead of completing the destruction of Saddam Hussein and his war machine, he counseled with Colin Powell and Dick Cheney, then decided not to go after Iraq's military, chemical, biological or nuclear arsenal.
Our nation and the world will continue to pay a price for this egocentric decision. I wonder how many more people will die before this error in judgment has been rectified?
