Wildcats ground Falcons in clash of Sunrise powers

Antione White rushed for 218 yards and three touchdowns to help Las Vegas defeat visiting Foothill 31-14 Thursday in a battle of division champions.
The No. 3 Wildcats (8-1) also got a 27-yard touchdown pass from Steve Creech to Corey Williams, as they posted their eighth consecutive win.
Nate Wederquist returned a kickoff 92 yards for No. 10 Foothill (6-3), which played running back John Ford sparingly in the loss.
Las Vegas will open the Sunrise Region Tournament at home against Green Valley, while the Falcons will host Rancho in round one next Friday.
In other week nine action:
Markesse Owens ran for 198 yards and caught a touchdown pass for Chaparral. Despite the win, the No. 8 Cowboys finish third in the Southeast and will travel to No. 7 Desert Pines to open the playoffs.
ELDORADO 35, RANCHO 20: The Sundevils (3-6, 2-2) claimed third place in the Northeast Division behind three rushing touchdowns from quarterback Michael Edwards.
Eric Williams and Jeremy Bell each added a touchdown for visiting Eldorado. The Rams (3-6, 1-3) led 20-6 at halftime, but managed just 13 yards in the second half.
Ron Hoye ran for a touchdown and Sam Smith scored on a 30-yard interception return for Mojave.
Cheyenne (4-5, 2-2), which earned the Northwest Division's No. 2 seed when Palo Verde lost to Centennial, will host Bishop Gorman to open the Sunset Region Tournament.
Fred Coleman added a 41-yard field goal for No. 6 Durango, which hosts No. 4 Palo Verde next Friday.
J.D. Weathers added a touchdown and Mark Hill returned an interception 53 yards for another score for the victors.
James Rensvold threw for two scores for Clark, which will host the Spartans (2-7) in a rematch in next week's playoffs.
