Nine LV contractors lose their licenses

The Nevada State Contractors Board revoked the licenses of nine Las Vegas area contractors accused of violating construction laws.

Seven of the nine contractors were accused of failing to establish financial responsibility and to pay for materials and services. These were Henderson-based High Bluff Construction Co. and Howell Development Inc. and Las Vegas-based Freedom Plumbing Inc., Allied Underground Inc., Tri-Star Theme Builders Inc., Raincross Development Corp. and Walchop Inc.

Tri-Star and Raincross are also accused of failing to cooperate in the investigation of a complaint, failing to include a license number and monetary limit on a contract and failing to maintain a bond. High Bluff is also accused of failing to cooperate in the investigation of a complaint and failing to include a license number and monetary limit on a contract, while Howell was accused of failing to maintain a bond.

The board also accused Allied and Walchop of failing to cooperate in the investigation of a complaint, while Tri-Star and Freedom Plumbing are accused of failing to report a change of address or personnel to the board.

An eighth contractor losing its license, Terra Landscape & Concrete Construction was accused of failing to include a license number and monetary limit on a contract, acting beyond the scope of its contractor's license, disregarding and violating state building laws.

The board also revoked the license of Sunset Construction Co. doing business as Primier Construction.

All the contractors could not be reached for comment.
