Harold A. Barber Sr.

Harold A. Barber Sr., 76, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born July 2, 1925, in Sedan, Kan. A resident for one month, he was a retired Army sergeant first class and World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha; three sons, Harold Barber Jr. of Willington, N.J., Samuel Barber of Newark, N.J., and Leon Barber of Burlington, N.J.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 9-10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main.

Glenn Bellgraph

Glenn Bellgraph, 55, of Las Vegas died Sept. 10 in Las Vegas. A resident for 10 years, he was born July 28, 1946, in Michigan.

Isidore Bennett

Isidore Bennett, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 29, 1923, in New York City. A resident for 30 years, he was a casino manager and an Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Margie and Amy; and two sisters, Janet and Silvia.

James Samuel Boone Sr.

James Samuel Boone Sr., 59, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. Self-employed, he was born Jan. 1, 1942, in Lewiston, Idaho.

He is survived by his lifelong companion, Jackie King; two sons, Darin Boone and James Boone Jr., both of Las Vegas; three daughters, Brenda Boone and Melissa Boone, both of Las Vegas, and Dawn Miles of Spokane, Wash.; one sister, Twila Erwin of Fresno, Calif.; and 18 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in Zelzah Shrine Temple, 2222 W. Mesquite Ave. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Mary Aroon Bowman

Mary Aroon Bowman, 26, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 26, 1975, in Las Vegas. She was an electrician, a 1993 graduate of Vo-Tech High School and a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

She is survived by her parents, John and Jaran; and two sisters, Suparat Holsomback of Scranton, Pa., and Jenny S. Bowman of Pullman, Wash.

Visitation is scheduled 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. services Thursday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Anne M. Campanelli Blace

Anne M. Campanelli Blace, 60, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 5, 1941, in Hamden, Conn. A resident for 10 years, she was a cashier at Santa Fe Station.

She is survived by two sons, Bruce Campanelli of Roswell, Ga., and Brian Campanelli of Ansonia, Conn.; one brother, Ernest Barbato of East Haven, Conn.; one sister, Mimi Tadeyeske of Winterhaven, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2-4 p.m. Thursday at Santa Fe Station. Burial will be private. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Bernadine M. Covault

Bernadine M. Covault, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 24, 1917, in Ohio. A resident for 22 years, she was a service station owner and a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Van Oss of Phoenix and David Coonfield of Gravette, Ark.; three daughters, Barbara Niewkirk of Las Vegas, Joy Coonfield of Gravette, Ark., and Rickie Van Oss of Phoenix; one sister, Eleanor Lawton of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Joseph Orsino Dessau

Joseph Orsino Dessau, 54, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1946, in Englewood, N.J. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired actor, a Vietnam War Army veteran, a member of the Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

He is survived by his wife, Cara; his mother, Mary Dessau of Walnut Creek, Calif; two sisters, Valerie Morrow of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Laura Arment of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and three brothers, Franklin Dessau of San Francisco, Edward Dessau of Berkeley, Calif., and Frederick Dessau of Germany.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Manuel G. Diaz Jr.

Manuel G. Diaz Jr., 59, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 24, 1942, in Laredo, Texas. A resident for 34 years, he was a hotel chef.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; one son, Michael Galardi, and one daughter, April Diaz, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Richard Diaz of Arizona and Pete Diaz and Philip Diaz; seven sisters, Eva Aguilar, Mandy Owens, Cello, Dora, Sally, Gloria and Delores; and one grandson.

Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Gilda Enders

Gilda Enders, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Chicago. A resident for 19 years, she was a cosmetologist.

She is survived by her husband, Roman; one son, Jerry Perry of Illinois; one daughter, Sue Brookshire of Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.

The family prefers balloons over flowers.

Irwin L. Fink

Irwin L. Fink, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired real estate broker.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Evelyn; two sons, Richard H. Fink of Tucson, Ariz., and Edward C. Fink of Las Vegas; one sister, Janet Finkelstien of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Earl G. Jones

Earl G. Jones, 71, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 26, 1930, in Missouri. A resident for 13 years, he was a pipefitter, a Korean War Navy veteran and a member of Local 250 in Gardenia, Calif.

He is survived by his wife, Louella; one son, Gary Jones; two daughters, Debbie and Brenda; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 12:40 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

William Stephen Kachele

William Stephen Kachele, 74, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born April 25, 1927, in Hoopeston, Ill. A resident for 47 years, he worked at the Tropicana hotel and was a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Debra Gomes and Catherine Warren, both of Las Vegas; two sons, Dr. William Kachele of San Marcos, Calif., and David Kachele of Emporia, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

James Francis King

James Francis King, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Pittsburgh. A resident for five years, he was an appeals manager for the Internal Revenue Service and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; one daughter, Stacey Shackelford of Huntington Beach, Calif.; five brothers, William King and John Regis King, both of Pittsburgh, Bart King of Portville, N.Y., Peter King of Leechburg, Pa., and Gerard King of Santee, Calif.; four sisters, Patricia Barker of Duquesne, Pa., and Mary Ann Kearns, Betty Kincaid and Janet Pavlot, all of Pittsburgh.

Burial will be in California. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Winifred Mary Maddix

Winifred Mary Maddix, 79, of Pahrump died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 4, 1922, in New York. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Gray Ladies at Lakeview Hospital and the Sweet Adeline Choir.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alfred; five sons, Douglas M. Maddix of Flint, Mich., Joseph R. Maddix, Alfred Maddix and Edward Maddix, all of Battle Creek, Mich., and Dennis Maddix of Colorado; one daughter, Mary E. Correll of Battle Creek; 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at noon today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road, is handling arrangements.

Kenneth Q. Miller

Kenneth Q. Miller, 71, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Seattle. A resident for 1 1/2 years, he was an assemblyman for an automobile manufacturer and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine E.; two sons, Donald Miller of St. Helens, Ore., and Raymond Holbrook of Fountain Valley, Calif.; five daughters, Rebecca Miller of El Monte, Calif., Kathy Lewis of Fountain Valley, Linda Montoya and Debbie Holbrook, both of Corona, Calif., and Diana Holbrook of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; one brother, Lawrence Miller of Head River, Ore.; one sister, Susan Sandoval of Vernonia, Ore.; and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Kathleen Mary Nissim

Kathleen Mary Nissim, 52, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 3, 1948, in Michigan. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Weakly and Tiffon Weakly; three brothers, Jon Weakly, David Weakly and Harold Weakly; and one sister, Linda Hendricks.

Edwin Irving Oakes Jr.

Edwin Irving Oakes Jr., 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 23, 1929, in New York City. A resident for nine years, he was a retired maintenance worker for Lockheed Aircraft, a Korean War Army veteran and a former member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; one son, Alan Oakes of California; four daughters, Maureen Michaels, Michele Oakes and Kelly MacLeod, all of Utah, and Holly Scheffler of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Valerie Raedel of California; one sister, Margaret Erhardt of New York; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Danny R. Parrott

Danny R. Parrott, 49, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1952, in Jackson, Mich. A resident for 37 years, he owned an air conditioning company.

He is survived by his wife, Leona Rascon-Parrott; two sons, Danny L. Parrott of Las Vegas and Jason Hickman of Antioch, Calif.; three sisters, Merna Wright of Hurricane, Utah, and Mary Patterson and Donna Martinez, both of Henderson; one brother, Paul Parrott of Pahrump; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 8:30 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Jones. Graveside services will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest.

Doris M. Shock

Doris M. Shock, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 29, 1922, in Ann Arbor, Mich. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired landscape supplier.

She is survived by her husband, Walter; two daughters, Patricia Peacock and Roberta Laswell, and one son, Wayne Shock, all of Las Vegas; four brothers, Raymond Lawrence, David Koon, Alvin Koon and Robert Koon, all of Georgia; four sisters, Ann Walworth, Dorothy Soderblom and Mary Ellen Mormon, all of Flint, Mich., and Ethel Crowley of Fenton, Mich.; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Gladys Hail Stewart

Gladys Hail Stewart, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in Bakersfield, Calif. She was born July 30, 1914, in Copper Hill, Ariz. A resident for 53 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Diane Riggs of Bakersfield; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be noon Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Margaret Fern Taylor

Margaret Fern Taylor, 68, of San Marcos, Calif., died Oct. 12 in San Marcos. She was born April 4, 1933, in Cleveland. A former Las Vegas resident for 20 years, she was a food server at Caesars Palace.

She was preceded in death by one son, Allen Taylor.

She is survived by two sons, Mitchell Taylor of Idaho and Karl Taylor of Las Vegas; one sister, Jeanne Schroeder of San Marcos; and three grandchildren.

Blanche Davis Thomas, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 31, 1918, in Payson, Utah. A resident for 25 years, she was a secretary for the Clark County Sanitation Department and served an LDS mission in the Western states.

She is survived by one son, Arthur K.; one sister, Jean Mickleson of California; two brothers, Sterling Davis and Vaughn Davis, both of Payson; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Utah.
