A Westport, Conn. media company has acquired a transportation publication and Internet site and a related trade show that is conducted annually in Las Vegas.
Cygnus Business Media acquired GSE Today magazine and GSEToday.com from Las Cruces, N.M.-based General Publications LLC and the GSE Expo from a General Publications subsidiary, GSE International Expo LLC. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
GSE stands for "ground support equipment," a segment of the aviation industry dealing with the servicing of passenger and cargo airplanes at airports and military bases.
The GSE Expo is an annual trade show conducted in Las Vegas. This year's three-day show began Tuesday at the Rio hotel-casino and will bring an estimated 4,000 people to the city to view 85,000 square feet of exhibits.
Cygnus Business Media officials said GSE personnel would retain their jobs through the transition to Cygnus, which publishes Airport Business, Aircraft Maintenance Technology and Mass Transit magazines and maintains AMTonline.com, Airportbusiness.com and Masstransitmag.com Internet sites.
