Arrest warrant issued for suspect
North Las Vegas Police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of an 18-year-old man in connection with the slaying last month of a 16-year-old boy from Cleveland.
Police are looking for Rex Alvin Jimerson, who is described as black, 5 feet, 11 inches, and 160 pounds. Police say Jimerson is considered dangerous, and also goes by the names Alvin Hammond, Alvin Jimerson and "A Hood."
On the night of Sept. 19, Moclanail Rogers, who was visiting relatives, was fatally shot as he talked to friends in the 3300 block of Civic Center Drive near Cheyenne Avenue, police said.
Rogers was able to get to a nearby apartment to receive help, but he later died at University Medical Center, police said.
Anyone with information on Jimerson is asked to call police at 633-9111 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
Motorcyclist, 59, killed in collision
A 59-year-old motorcyclist was killed Saturday morning after a collision with a car at Decatur Boulevard and O'Bannon Drive.
James Boone was driving north about 7 a.m. on Decatur Boulevard in the center of three traveling lanes, approaching O'Bannon Drive, near Sahara Avenue, Metro Police said.
Nicholaus Pope, 21, was driving south on Decatur Boulevard and turned left into Booth's path, police said. Boone was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died, police said.
Pope and a 17-year-old passenger in his car sustained minor injuries and were treated and released at the scene.
No charges were immediately filed.
Police seek suspect, 18
A 23-year-old man was stabbed to death early today in the house of an acquaintance, and police are searching for an 18-year-old suspect.
The victim, whose name was not released this morning, and Michael Kane, 18, were visiting two other men in a house in the 5200 block of Koa Avenue, near Flamingo Road and Nellis Boulevard, about 2:20 a.m., Metro Police said.
Police allege Kane stabbed the 23-year-old man several times. The two male residents of the house witnessed the attack, police said.
The 23-year-old man was taken to University Medical Center, where he died at 3:03 a.m., hospital officials said.
Police said Kane ran from the house and has not been located. Police said it is unclear what provoked the stabbing.
