Alan Dale Alders

Alan Dale Alders, 40, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 27, 1961, in California. A resident for two years, he was a laborer.

He is survived by his parents, Davie Lee and Eleanore Alders, and two sisters, Nancy Boxwell and Linda Lowder, all of Texas.

Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, is handling arrangements.

John Baker

John Baker, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 24, 1919, in Waterbury, Conn. A resident for 12 years, he was a hydraulics engineer for Vickers Manufacturing for 40 years and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, John Baker Jr. of Whitefish, Mont.; and one grandchild.

Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling private arrangements.

Thomas Chesar

Thomas Chesar, 64, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Jan. 6, 1937, in Pennsylvania. A resident for eight years, he was an engineer in the gaming industry.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; two sons, Dr. Thomas Chesar Jr. and Ted Chesar, both of Pennsylvania; one brother, John Chesar of Connecticut; five sisters, Elizabeth Chesar, Lucille Chesar, Florence Yencho and Eleanor Kobat, all of Pennsylvania and Cathryn Watkins of Arizona; and seven grandchildren.

Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.

Ann Sue Clark

Ann Sue Clark, 52, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. A waitress, she was born Sept. 23, 1949, in Meridian, Miss.

She is survived by three sons, Frederick Clark, Stacey Lamar Montgomery and Tamarcus Lamont Montgomery; two daughters, Latasha Shameika Clark and Courtney A. Graves; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries. Burial will be private.

Virginia Cunetta

Virginia Cunetta, 87, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 9, 1913, in Bristol, R.I. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Katherine Mascarena and Charlotta Baniahmad, both of Las Vegas, and O'Linda Oxx of Johnston, R.I.; two sons, Anthony Cunetta of Las Vegas and Robert Cunetta of North Providence, R.I.; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Helen Ann Daniels

Helen Ann Daniels, 75, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 2, 1926, in Chicago. A resident for 27 years, she was a retired sales associate of the Joseph Magnum retail chain and a member and past president of the Desert Springs Volunteer Women's Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Vincent F.; three sons, Rick Pacult and Dennis Daniels, both of Las Vegas and Paul Pacult of New York state; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to 11 a.m. services Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Jo Ann DeRisi

Jo Ann DeRisi, 72, of Henderson died Thursday in a local care center. She was born July 13, 1929, in Flint, Mich. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Sali Fowler of Henderson; one son, Don DeRisi of Chestnut Ridge, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.

Johnnie Lee Fortune Sr.

Johnnie Lee Fortune Sr., 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 5, 1939, in Mississippi.

He is survived by his wife, Mary D.; three sons, Gerrel Wayne Fortune, Johnnie Lee Fortune Jr., and Steven McCoy; two daughters, Tammy Fortune-Goodlow and Terry Lynn Fortune; four stepchildren, A.W. Davis, Michael McCoy, Roderick Smith and Charise Dean; two brothers, Robert Fortune and Billy Fortune; one sister, Allice Faye Dyson; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. Sunday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1100 N. D St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

John Fyfe Sr.

John Fyfe Sr., 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. He was born Sept. 16, 1928, in Chicago. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired security officer and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by two sons, John Fyfe Jr. of Las Vegas and James Fyfe of Ontario, Calif.; one daughter, Sherri Eilazhararhe of Whittier, Calif.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be 10:40 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Mildred 'Mitzi' Gordon

Mildred "Mitzi" Gordon, 77, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 25, 1924, in Baltimore. A resident for eight years, she was a retired cashier for an insurance company.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond Gordon and Larry Gordon, both of Henderson; two sisters, Dorothy Goldman of Philadelphia and Joyce Buckner of Baltimore; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Leo Hilliard

Leo Hilliard, 90, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. He was born June 30, 1911, in Childress, Texas. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired supervisor in the pattern business.

He is survived by two sisters, Winnie Otto of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Frances Wood of Oakview, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled noon-1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Lucy Ardella Stevenson Jones

Lucy Ardella Stevenson Jones, 96, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. She was born April 2, 1905, in Holiday, Utah. A resident of Boulder City and most recently Las Vegas for 42 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Don; four sons, Gary Jones of Lake Forest, Calif., Don Jones of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Steven Jones of Salt Lake City and Myron Jones of Westlake Village, Calif.; four daughters, Marilyn Gordon of Newport Beach, Calif., Linda Ostrovsky of Las Vegas, Donna Jones of Camp Hill, Pa., and Julia Spears of Franklin, Tenn.; one brother, Stanley Stevenson of Salt Lake City; 126 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services and burial will be in Utah. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd.

Irving I. Levin

Irving I. Levin, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A technician, he was born April 17, 1917, in Illinois.

He is survived by one son, Bob Levin of Las Vegas.

Barbara Jean Lewis

Barbara Jean Lewis, 59, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born May 14, 1942, in Illinois. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Nicole Lewis, Emma Fleming and Edenn James, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Loreaine Lloyd, and one sister, Raymona Lloyd, both of Chicago.

Russell Parker

Russell Parker, 58, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. A photographer, he was born Oct. 31, 1942, in Mississippi.

He is survived by one son, Westley Santiago of Fairfield, Calif.

Jessica Lynn Patterson, 10 months, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 30, 2000, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Megan Chamberlin, her father, Jon Patterson, one brother, Jordon DeNicola, and her grandparents, Chuck Chamberlin and Dawn and Mike Mirabelli, all of Las Vegas.

Nick Prexta

Nick Prexta, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. A laborer, he was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Ohio.

He is survived by one niece, Linda Cobot.

Hyman C. Solomon

Hyman C. Solomon, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born June 10, 1921, in Bayonne, N.J. A resident for 24 years, he was a social worker for New York and Nevada, a retired Air Force sergeant and World War II veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; two sons, Stacey Solomon and Corey Solomon, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Hilary Solomon of New York City; and two grandchildren.

Robert C. Special

Robert C. Special, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Illinois. A resident for eight years, he was a salesman, an Army veteran and a member of Badlands Golf Club and Rio Hondo Golf Club.

He is survived by three sons, Charles Edward Special, Shawn Special and Anthony Robert Special; one daughter, Tia Louise Special; and two grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. today in North. Graveside services were scheduled at 1:20 p.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.

LeRoy T. Wilcox Jr.

LeRoy T. Wilcox Jr., 73, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Omaha, Neb. A lifelong resident, he was a junior high school teacher and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Marshall Wilcox of Boulder City, Lee Wilcox of York, Pa., and John Wilcox of Miami; one daughter, Lenore Stephey of Barstow, Calif; one sister, Lenore VanWyke of Lompoc, Calif.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
