Henderson racer captures gold medal

Journeyman personal watercraft racer Rob Flores of Henderson won Nevada's first gold medal Thursday at the Skat-Trak Watercross World Championships, being held through Sunday on Lake Havasu.
Flores rode a Kawasaki watercraft to the gold in the Pro-Am Ski Stock class, his third title in this event. A two-time IJSBA Expert Ski Superstock National Champion, Flores also will be racing this weekend in the Pro Ski class.
In earning his gold medal in Pro-Am Ski Stock, Flores won both of his closed-course motos and finished fifth in the timed slalom portion of the competition.
