Veteran personal watercraft racer Greg Matta of Las Vegas won three medals Wednesday at the Skat-Trak Watercross World Championships, being held through Sunday on Lake Havasu. Matta, 42, rode his Yamaha watercraft to silver medals in both Novice Ski Superstock and Novice Veteran Ski and the bronze in Novice Ski Limited.
A total of 16 championships in the Novice and Amateur divisions have been decided as 30 entries from Nevada are competing in the world's largest and most prestigious PWC race. Expert divisions will race through Friday and the featured Pro divisions will be on the water Saturday and Sunday.
