Erika Lynn Bayer

Erika Lynn Bayer, 27, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was born Feb. 26, 1974, in New Kensington, Pa.

She is survived by her mother, Vicki L. Abraham of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

The Rev. Robert Harold Carey

The Rev. Robert Harold Carey, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 1, 1930, in Joliet, Ill. A resident for one year, he was a retired Catholic priest and member of the Clerics of St. Viator, an educator at Bishop Gorman High School from 1959-1962 and served at St. Viator Catholic Church from 1970-1977.

He is survived by one sister, Lynn Hock of Joliet.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Guardian Angel Cathedral, 302 Cathedral Way. Burial will follow in Davis' Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Gladys B. Centers

Gladys B. Centers, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born June 10, 1924, in Camden, Ohio. A resident for eight years, she was a retired owner-operator of a retail sales firm.

She is survived by her husband, Everett Sr.; one daughter, Barbara J. Kirby of Yorba Linda, Calif.; two sons, Ronald L. Centers of Los Angeles and Jerry C. Centers of Las Vegas; three sisters, Grace Harrison and Ruth E. Root, both of Ohio, and Marjorie Nayhagen of College Place, Wash.; one brother, Kenneth Root of Long Beach, Calif.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Eugene Richard Chorzempa

Eugene Richard Chorzempa, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 23, 1927, in Chicago. A resident for 32 years, he was a retired Centel/Sprint telephone company installer and a veteran of the Army and Merchant Marines.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; one son, Thomas Chorzempa of Las Vegas; one daughter, Janet Notarfrancesco of Mahwah, N.J.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary's chapel, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.

Florencio de Blanck

Florencio de Blanck, 80, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 10, 1921, in Cuba. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired Miami hotel gift shop owner-operator and a salesman in Cuba.

He is survived by his wife, Lucrecia; and two sons, Florencio de Blanck Jr. of Madrid and Roger de Blanck of Las Vegas.

Services will be 7 p.m. today in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Rose N. Giglio

Rose N. Giglio, 87, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 22, 1914, in St. Louis. A resident for six years, she owned and operated a restaurant in Ohio.

She is survived by one daughter, Christina Moscatelli of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Sara Yobi and Lillian Rotondo, both of Akron, Ohio.

Visitation is scheduled 5 p.m. until a 6:30 p.m. rosary Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Charles Greenfeld

Charles Greenfeld, 58, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. He was born March 12, 1943, in Baltimore. A resident for one year, he was a hardware and door salesman.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Aimee Webber of Berkley, W.Va., and Stacey Tregerman of Las Vegas; one son, Philip Greenfeld of Henderson; two sisters, Davia Shirely, and Shelley Trask of Michigan; one brother, Daniel Greenfeld of Maryland; and five grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at noon today in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

John Michael Harker

John Michael Harker, 59, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 11, 1942, in Magrath, Alberta. A resident for 26 years, he was an executive in the local broadcasting community.

He is survived by his wife, Francine; two sons, Scott Adams of Mesa, Ariz., and Sonny Harker of Las Vegas; two daughters, Shauna Tucker of Mesa and Joanie Shumway of Bullhead City, Ariz.; his father, Earl B. Harker of Magrath; five sisters, Barbara Davies of Welling, Alberta, Lorna Harker, Jill Wakefield and Patricia Dudley, all of Magrath, and Christine Roper of Cuba City, Wis.; and 14 grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the LDS chapel, 2075 E. Tropicana Ave. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Rhonda A. Johnson

Rhonda A. Johnson, 46, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 2, 1955, in Corning, N.Y. A resident for three years, she was a retired flag person in the construction industry.

She is survived by her husband, Percy Jr.; one daughter, Sehvon Johnson of Cherry Hill, N.J.; two sons, Elando Johnson of Oswego, N.Y., and Jeffrey Johnson of Las Vegas; two sisters, Twilia Harris of Reynoldsburgh, Ohio, and Georgine Pulas of Bath, N.Y.; and two brothers, Kevin Hampton of Elmira, N.Y., and William Hampton of Springfield, Mass.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., handled arrangements.

Michael Brandon Kaplan

Michael Brandon Kaplan, 23, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 2, 1977, in Alexandria, La. A resident for five years, he was a university student, a page for the U.S. Senate, a member of Hillel at UNLV and Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity.

He is survived by his mother, Beth Kaplan of Houston; his father, Sid Kaplan of Las Vegas; one sister, Jennifer Kaplan of Loveland, Colo.; one brother, Jason Kaplan of New Orleans; and his grandparents, Zelda and Gus Kaplan of Alexandria.

A memorial service will be 5:30 p.m. today at UNLV's Interfaith Center, 4765 Brussels Road. Burial will be in Minneapolis. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Corey Trent McDaniel

Corey Trent McDaniel, 29, of Wauwatosa, Wis., died Tuesday in a Wauwatosa hospital. He was born March 10, 1972, in Las Vegas. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a porter at the Westward Ho casino.

He is survived by one son, Sharrod Trent McDaniel; his parents, Earl and Osell McDaniel; one brother, Kenneth McDaniel; and two sisters, Elversa Asberry and Mary Pucket.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be in Grace Immanuel Baptist Church, 805 W. Bartlett Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Wilhelmina Maria Overbeek

Wilhelmina Maria Overbeek, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 18, 1924, in the Netherlands. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker and a volunteer in out-patient surgery at Valley Hospital for more than 20 years.

She is survived by her husband, Antoon Willen; and one brother, Jan Roozen of Udenhout, Holland.

Visitation is scheduled 2-5 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Burial will be private.

Charles A. Prawdzik

Charles A. "Chuck" Prawdzik, 74, of Henderson died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born July 28, 1927, in Simpson, Pa., and was an attorney, an Army veteran and a member of the State Bar of California.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two sons, Charles Prawdzik Jr. of Los Angeles and James Prawdzik of Henderson; one daughter, Marit Fox of Santa Clara, Calif.; his mother, Florence Elledge of Henderson; one sister, Genevieve Entuch of New Jersey; two brothers, Edward Prawdzik of South Carolina and Michael Prawdzik of New Jersey; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road, Henderson. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Tony Silvaggio

Tony Silvaggio, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 24, 1931, in Cleveland. A resident for 43 years, he was a retired building contractor and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; four daughters, Sandy Farro and Yvonne Zaccherias, both of Cleveland, Mitzi Silvaggio of Florida and Nina Silvaggio of Las Vegas; one son, Joey Silvaggio, two brothers, Frank Silvaggio and Perry Silvaggio, and two sisters, Violet Pizzoferrato and Rose Monclock, all of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Mildred K. Wuyts

Mildred K. Wuyts, 88, of Henderson died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born March 4, 1913, in Salt Lake City. A resident of Boulder City for 19 years and most recently a resident of Henderson for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Carl; one son, Lawrence A. Smith of Oak Harbor, Wash.; one stepdaughter, Ann Denice Deuel of Mount Pleasant, Utah; one stepson, Dennis Reed Wuyts of Lyman, Wyo.; one sister, Louella Winslow of Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday in the River Mountain Trailer Estate Clubhouse, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
