"God Bless America." How beautiful to hear it sung again by an awakened nation.
It reminds me, as one in the Pacific Campaign 56 years ago off the shores of Tokyo Bay, that the spirit of America as a nation in those horrible years is what sustained us millions of civilians in military uniform so we could defeat the most beastly military machines in history and once again make the world free.
I am saddened, though, that later generations have allowed us to lose much of what we fought for in the war to end all wars. Let us pray that we are an awakened nation that will take back our freedom, defend our constitution and forever ban those bent on destroying our country from within as well as in the world around us.
