Francisco J. Acosta
Francisco J. Acosta, 26, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. Born Feb. 18, 1975, in Mexico, he was a resident for five years.
He is survived by his mother and father, Rosa P. and Jesus Acosta, both of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Maria Pilar Contreras, Jose Acosta and Augustine Limon, all of Mexico.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Bridget's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Mario A. Amabile Sr.
Mario A. Amabile Sr., 78, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born July 19, 1923, in Monessen, Pa. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired production supervisor for an aluminum products company and a World War II Army Air Corp veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Nancie; three daughters, Cathleen Bryant of Corono, Calif., Sandra Amabile of Indio, Calif., and Marcie Guerrero of Chino Hills, Calif.; two sons, Mario A. Amabile Jr., of Henderson and John F. Amabile of Riverside, Calif.; two brothers, Albert Amabile of Redlands, Calif., and Frank Amabile of Henderson; and five grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 1325 E. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89119.
Charles H. Atkinson II
Charles H. Atkinson II, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born April 4, 1925, in Graham, Texas. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired civil service engineer and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; one daughter, Diane Toburen of Tulsa, Okla.; two sons, Thomas Atkinson of Mesa, Ariz., and George Atkinson of Reston, Va.; and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 8 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Charles Laura Blacklock
Charles Laura Blacklock, 78, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Charleston, Texas. A resident for 37 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Luther; one daughter, Louise Middlesbrooks of Monahns, Texas; one sister, Hazel Williams of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Mildred Blitz
Mildred Blitz, 76, of Henderson died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Nov. 18, 1924, in Appleton, Wis. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired candy store owner and a World War II Army veteran.
She is survived by one daughter, Robin Blitz of Las Vegas; three sons, Randy Blitz of Las Vegas, Robert Blitz of Irvine, Calif., and Richard Blitz of Eden, N.C.; one brother, Marvin Kaminsky of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
Vera Adlene Carpenter
Vera Adlene Carpenter, 83, of Las Vegas died May 15 in Broken Arrow, Okla. A resident for 18 years, she was born June 16, 1917, in Harrisburg, Pa.
She is survived by nine children; two stepchildren; and 29 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Nelson J. Crespo
Nelson J. Crespo, 26, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 25, 1975, in New York. A resident for 1 1/2 years, he was a forklift operator for a beverage company.
He is survived by his mother and father, Nicole and Nelson Crespo, both of Monroe, N.Y.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Monroe. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.
Ernesto 'Ernie' Devito
Ernesto "Ernie" Devito, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born July 19, 1922, in Rochester, N.Y. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired postal worker, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and DAV.
He is survived by one brother, Louie Devito of Rochester; one grandchild and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. A rosary is scheduled 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, Eastern. Mass will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Robert D. Elliott
Robert D. Elliott, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Tensas Parish, La. A resident for 35 years, he was a Clark County schoolteacher, correctional officer for the state of Nevada, car salesman and a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; one son, Rodney L. Elliott of North Las Vegas; and one brother, Joshus Elliott of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled noon-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in St. James Catholic Church, 820 N. H St. Burial will be 10:40 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Anita Gallagher
Anita Gallagher, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 16, 1933, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for five years, she was a bookkeeper for Chiarelli's Religious Goods.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two sons, Joseph P. Gallagher III and Nicholas Gallagher, both of Las Vegas; two daughters, Virginia Mulligan of Marietta, Ga., and Eileen Gallagher-Barrett of Las Vegas.
Visitation was schedule 3-5 p.m. today in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.

Julian Govea Garcia
Julian Govea Garcia, 75, of Las Vegas died Sept. 25. He was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Mason, Iowa. He was a World War II Navy veteran.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 9 a.m. Friday in St. James Catholic Church, 820 N. H St. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Billie Garland
Billie Garland, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 2, 1921, in Kentucky. A resident for 51 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Martha Minwegen and Kathy Calmy, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Harry Wainscott of Kentucky and Dub Wainscott of Florida; one sister, Alma Clunan of Florida; and six grandchildren.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday in Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 4400 W. Oakey Blvd. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements
Patrick Hawkins
Patrick Hawkins, 34, of Las Vegas died Sept. 27 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 3, 1967, in California. A longtime resident, he was a truck driver.
He is survived by his mother, Veola Smith of Los Angeles.

Fred G. Holzbauer
Fred G. Holzbauer, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 24, 1921, in Chicago. A resident for 33 years, he was Navy military store keeper and World War II, Vietnam War and Korean War veteran, and a member of the American Legion, Post No. 8 and Navy Fleet Reserve Association.
He is survived by one son, John Bowen; one daughter, Kathleen Bowen; and one brother, Leonard Holzbauer of Las Vegas.
Services are private. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
Harriet Bernhard Margulies
Harriet Bernhard Margulies, 76, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Nov. 21, 1924, in Minneapolis. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Hadassah and Temple Beth Sholom.
She is survived by one daughter, Candace Margulies of Minneapolis.
Graveside services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Ronald C. Melnick
Ronald C. Melnick, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 8, 1944, in East Liverpool, Ohio. A resident for four years, he was a dealer and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; two sons, John B. Melnick of Beaver, Pa., and Ronald T. Melnick of Lakewood, Calif.; one brother, John P. Melnick of Los Angeles; and one sister, Jane E. Melnick of Sharon, Pa.
Services were scheduled 2 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Jean Parker
Jean Parker, 76, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Turtle Lake, N.D. A resident for 38 years, she was a legal secretary.
She is survived by one son, Frank Ancho; one daughter, Juanita Foster; two brothers, Gordon Bergo and Vernon Keel; one sister, Lois Madigen; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-5 p.m. Friday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Joe Sales-Mora
Joe Sales-Mora, 16, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born March 10, 1985, in Torrance, Calif. A resident for one year, he was a student.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Tracy Sales-Flores and Cisco Flores, both of Hawthorne, Calif.; his father and stepmother, Scott and Debbie Mora, and one brother, Brandon Mora, all of Cypress, Calif.; one sister, Amanda Sales of Hawthorne, Calif.; his grandparents, Roy and Leilani Sales of Las Vegas, Rob Mora of Long Beach, Calif., and Linda Grady of Torrance.
Services will be 9 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Ronald Untrif
Ronald Untrif, 55, of Las Vegas died Sept. 13 in Las Vegas. He was born March 7, 1946, in Missouri. He was a resident for 15 years coming from Kansas City.
Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery in Kansas City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, handled arrangements.
Billy P. Williams
Billy P. Williams, 66, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Hollywood, Calif. A resident for 61 years, he was a retired plumbing contractor and president of B.P. Williams Mechanical Co., a member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 525, past president of Associated Plumbing and Air Conditioning Contractors of Nevada, a sustaining member of the American Welding Society and a member of the Western Mechanical Association.
He is survived by his wife, Roxella; one son, Billy R. Williams of Las Vegas; two sisters, Starling Burke and Mercedes Brown, both of Melbourne, Ark.; one brother, Bobby Williams of Ventura, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, Downtown.
