LV tech firm cuts workforce

HelloNetwork, a Las Vegas-grown video streaming firm, has trimmed 45 jobs, or one-third of its workforce, from its payroll since May. It now employs about 105 people, including 80 in Las Vegas.
The company's software broadcasts conference calls on company Intranet systems. It also develops technology bringing video capabilities to wireless devices like cell phones and personal digital assistants.
HelloNetwork President Lance Horn said the firm is moving away from being an operator of its software to a licensor, allowing clients to run the programs on their networks.
HelloNetwork therefore needed fewer software programmers. The company moved its headquarters to New York in January, but had retained the bulk of its tech staff in Las Vegas.
