LV slot maker announces acquisition

Aristocrat Technologies Inc. of Las Vegas announced today it has acquired Hanson Distributing Co. of Bloomington, Minn., for an undisclosed amount.

Hanson has been distributing Aristocrat's slot products in the upper Midwest since 1990. Its territory includes Native American casinos in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and North and South Dakota.

Hanson is the only external distributor of Aristocrat products in the United States; its purchase will give Aristocrat complete control over its distribution channels in this country.

"We recognize the importance of providing uniform and high-level service and support," said Aristocrat Chief Executive Des Randall. "The extensive knowledge and experience of the Hanson team in the U.S. market will be a valuable asset for Aristocrat."

Aristocrat is the U.S. subsidiary of Aristocrat Leisure Ltd. of Sydney, Australia, one of the largest slot sellers in the international market.
