Letter: Protesters need to do more thinking
Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001 | 8:44 a.m.
I see in the news we have protesters marching with signs for peace and not war, just as we did in the '60s. I'm glad they are taking advantage of what other veterans and I fought for.
If not for Americans like us and other freedom-loving countries going to war, they wouldn't be walking these streets carrying signs. We gave them the freedom to protest.
After the devastation these intruders did to our country, our friends and our neighbors, I'm surprised that anyone could side with these radicals so they may live on to do it again somewhere else. Now we know how some of this generation thinks when our freedom is violated.
Take the time and think of what you're protesting for or against. If our shores were ever invaded, God help us if we all thought your way. If you lost someone in New York, you would think differently. Keep this in mind while marching and carrying your little signs of peace to save those who hate freedom enough to kill.
What are you gonna do when they come for you?
