The Nevada Commission on Economic Development's fifth annual economic development conference, postponed after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, has been canceled.
The conference, which was expected to draw 300 to 400 people from across the state and guest speakers from across the country, originally was scheduled Sept. 13-14 at the Stardust hotel-casino.
In a statement, Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt, who chairs the Nevada Commission on Economic Development, said the East Coast terrorist attacks led to the cancellation and that refunds are being processed to individuals and exhibitors who registered in advance.
