Letter: Anthrax letters sent to liberals
Friday, Nov. 30, 2001 | 9:23 a.m.
Being as most of the anthrax-laced mail has been sent to Democrat politicians and liberal-leaning news publications, I wonder if somebody or anybody has thought to analyze pieces of legislation that have been sponsored or advocated by most or all of these politicians to find a common thread that could isolate certain organizations or movements and go from there.
For instance, if the common-thread legislation be pro-choice, it is entirely possible the pro-life movement or one of its supporters on the extreme fringe is the culprit (I use the pro-life movement as an example only).
I would think if the FBI can find time to harass legal immigrants who may be remotely suspected of 9-11 connections, it could start some sort of investigation such as I have outlined, or it could be that the terrorist in this case might be a white, Christian, right-wing Republican, only because the letters were addressed mostly, almost entirely to Democrats who also profess to be pro-choice, anti-gun and protectors of the safety net etc.
It's a good place to start.
