Former Rebel Scott leads Hong Kong Open

Adam Scott of Australia carded a 7-under-par 64 today to take a one-stroke lead over three players after the first round of the $700,000 Hong Kong Open.

Scott, a 21-year-old second-year pro who spent a year at UNLV, collected seven birdies, one eagle and two bogeys.

Two-time Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal, Paul McGinley of Ireland, and James Stewart of Hong Kong were at 6 under. A group of 13 players was at 5 under.

The highlight of Scott's round was an eagle on the 12th hole, in which he hit a driver and 2-iron to 15 feet.
