BOYS BASKETBALL
Bishop Gorman 73, Cimarron-Memorial 61: C.J. Watson torched the Spartans for 36 points, adding six rebounds and five assists, and Brandon Knott scored 20 points to lead the Gaels. Robert Young had 24 points and Jason Petrimoulx chipped in 17 for Cimarron.
Bonanza 50, Chaparral 30: The Bengals evened their record at 1-1 with a 20-point victory.
Basic 68, Cedar City (Utah) 65: T he Wolves opened the season with a win over their out-of-state foe.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Bonanza 73, Chaparral 47: Lyndsay Gensler scored 20 points and JenniferDavey added 18 for the Bengals, while Oshaylee Thomas tallied 20 points for the Cowboys in the loss.
Bishop Gorman 67, Cimarron-Memorial 21: The Gaels got 18 points from Breona Gray in a season-opening rout of the Spartans.
Faith Lutheran 38, Paradise Christian 26: Angela Turner scored 14 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for the Crusaders.
