Door opened to gunfire

Efrocino Munoz, 31, and Angela Godinez, 38, who were shot several times by a gunman when she opened the door to her apartment on Bruce Street near Karen Avenue Monday, were in critical condition this morning.

Metro Police believe the victims may have known the gunman. Detectives are following leads, but no arrest has been made this morning, Lt. Ted Snodgrass said.

Snodgrass said the motive for the shooting was not drugs, gang or domestic violence, but he would not reveal what detectives believe the motive was.

Car crashes into house

A 21-year-old Las Vegas man was killed Tuesday night when he lost control of his car and crashed into a house in southeast Las Vegas.

Flavio C. Lopez was driving around a curve in his 1981 El Camino on San Anselmo Street near Nellis Boulevard and Hacienda Avenue about 9:40 p.m. The car hit a fire hydrant and then crashed into a house, Metro Police said.

Lopez was thrown from the car and struck another house. He was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving, police said.
