Letter: Military tribunal only way to go
Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001 | 8:44 a.m.
Charles Levendosky's Nov. 26 column was typical left-wing propaganda. To extradite a bunch of terrorists from across the world so they can enjoy our court system is nuts.
First of all they would get continuance after continuance. Then the lefties in the U.S. would rally at their side and give them a forum to be heard around the world.
And if they should finally get to a trial, a jury would be impossible because there would be at least one liberal or bleeding heart who would vote for an acquittal because of the way these creeps were brought up. Trying to get 12 people to even agree on a restaurant, much less the guilt of (in)famous defendants, would be next to impossible.
Jury nullification goes on all the time. Or maybe just a panel of absolute idiots such as happened at the O.J. Simpson trial.
This tribunal is the way to go for those people. I have much more confidence in President Bush than the chance of getting a star-struck judge like Judge Ito!
