Hotel-casino releasing computer game

Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001 | 9:28 a.m.

The Venetian hotel-casino has licensed a suite of computer casino games from a California company, and plans to launch a computer game branded after the Las Vegas property.

The suite of casino games was produced by Interactive Solutions Corp. of Irvine, Calif. The Venetian-branded computer game will include 35 casino games, including blackjack, roulette, craps, slots and video poker.

The game, set for a January release, should serve as a brand builder for the Venetian, as well as a revenue generator, said Christopher Stacey, the Venetian's Internet marketing manager.

"This is another way to build the Venetian brand and experience," Stacey said. "The casino and lobby (in the game) will all be consistent with our property."

The game will be sold in the Venetian's Grand Canal Shoppes, its guest rooms and over its Internet site, and talks are under way to sell the game through independent retailers, Stacey said.

Players will have the ability to play the game with other people through the Internet, but Stacey said the product has nothing to do with for-cash Internet gaming.
