Los Angeles, Denver most affected by juggled flights

Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001 | 9:31 a.m.

The juggling of flights by airlines serving McCarran International Airport has changed the number of flights arriving in Las Vegas from cities across the country.

Markets affected the most by the changes are Los Angeles, which has seven fewer daily flights to 44; Denver, which has three fewer flights to 13; Phoenix, which has three fewer flights to 33; New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport, which has four fewer daily flights and three fewer weekly flights to six a day; and San Francisco, which has two fewer flights to 18.

Meanwhile, daily flights have been added to Ely; Cleveland; Portland, Ore.; San Jose, Calif.; and St. Louis.

Markets no longer served nonstop from Las Vegas are Palm Springs and Santa Barbara, Calif., and Tokyo. However, nonstop service has been added to Ely; Edmonton, Alberta; Norfolk, Va.; Oklahoma City; and Tijuana since August. Once-a-week seasonal service between Las Vegas and Frankfurt, Germany, on Condor Airlines also has been discontinued until next year.
