Man slain on Thanksgiving identified

A man shot to death Thanksgiving afternoon was identified as 59-year-old Eugene Joseph Cattaneo of Las Vegas.

Cattaneo was walking in the 1700 block of Golden Arrow Drive, near Desert Inn Road and Maryland Parkway, about 3:50 p.m. Thursday when he met a man with whom he had a long-standing disagreement, Metro Police said.

The two argued and Cattaneo was shot. He was taken to UMC, where he was pronounced dead.

David Earl Reed, 61, was booked into the Clark County jail on one count of murder, police said.
