Holiday event

"Gift of Lights," a drive-through holiday lights event sponsored by Goodwill of Southern Nevada, is on display from 5-10 p.m. nightly, through Dec. 26 at Sunset Park. Admission is $10 per vehicle. Call 597-1107.

Comedian Rita Rudner will sign copies of her new book, "Tickled Pink," from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Fountain of the Gods at the Forum Shops at Caesars.

Author C.M. Mantis will sign copies of his new book, "The World According to Dad, A Manual for the Good Life," Monday at B. Dalton Booksellers from 1-3 p.m. at the Meadows mall and from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Boulevard mall.

Sheila Copeland, author of the books "A Chocolate Affair " and "Chocolate Star," will sign copies of her books from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at B. Dalton Book Seller at Meadows mall.

Ralph Denton will discuss and sign copies of his memoir, "A Liberal Conscience," from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at UNLV's William S. Boyd School of Law on East Tropicana Avenue. On Dec. 1 he will sign copies at the Boulder Dam Hotel in Boulder City.

Steinbeck lecture

UNLV's College of Liberal Arts presents "John Steinbeck: America's Writer," a lecture, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the university's Barrick Museum Auditorium. Admission is free. Call 895-2787.
