Patricia J. Castro
Patricia J. Castro, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born Oct. 28, 1934. A resident for six years, she was a vocational nurse and a charter member of General Society of Mayflower Descendents.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; two sons, Martin and Andrew; two daughters, Ida and Corino; her mother, Grace; two brothers, Bill and John; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Patricia Dundon
Patricia Dundon, 69, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 1, 1932, in Lyndhurst, N.J. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Debbie DiGiovanni, and one son, Charles A. Coll, both of Boulder City; one sister, Lillian Rottger of Saddle Brook, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Martin Fischer
Martin Fischer, 59, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born June 11, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 21 years, he was a retired hod carrier and an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Penny; three daughters, Kim of Las Vegas and Dawn and Edith, both of New York; two sons, Martin and John, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Annamarie of Florida and Julia of New York; one brother, Fred of Vermont; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. today and 8-9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will follow at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Patrick Gillan
Patrick Gillan, 73, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 14, 1927, in Sligo, Ireland. A resident for 32 years, he retired in 1992 from the Flamingo Hilton as a bartender after 23 years and was a member of Sons of Erin of Las Vegas.
He is survived by three sisters, Kay Whitenect of Canada, Margaret M. Walker of Florida and Annie Childs of England; and three brothers, John Gillan of New York, Andy Gillan of England and Michael Gillan of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Jerry Heackley
Jerry Heackley, 90, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 19, 1911, in Denver. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired casino bartender, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Culinary Union for 30 years, Bartenders Local 165 and Columbine Masonic Lodge 147.
He is survived his wife, Vivienne; one son, Victor Heackley of Las Vegas; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.
Carroll Ratrick Higgins
Carroll Ratrick Higgins, 78, of Pahrump died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 27, 1922, in St. Louis. A truck driver for Global Van Lines for 16 years, he was a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Christine; one son, Michael Higgins; two daughters, Patricia Shaffer and Carol Jackson; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be private. Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Veda Louise Stander Knerr
Veda Louise Stander Knerr, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 21, 1924, in Brigham City, Utah. A resident for 45 years, she was a retired co-owner of a motorcycle shop.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; two sons, Bill Knerr of Lake Tahoe and Wayne Knerr of Memphis, Tenn.; and two sisters, Merle Stander Christensen of Brigham City, Utah, and Doris Stander Burton of Thatcher, Utah.
Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Carmella JoAnn Markovich
Carmella JoAnn Markovich, 50, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 30, 1951, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. A resident for 10 years, she was a receptionist for Sigmatron International for four years.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Sr.; one son, Michael Markovich Jr. of Wilkes-Barre; and her mother, Carmella Drago of Las Vegas.
Valley Memorial Crematory, 4855 W. Desert Inn Road, is handling arrangements.
Karl Stanton Snow
Karl Stanton Snow, 70, of Boulder City died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 19, 1931, in St. George, Utah. A resident for 45 years, he was a retired chemical engineer for a titanium company and former LDS bishop of the Boulder City First Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna; one daughter, Rebecca Snow of Alexandria, Va.; four sons, Mitchell Snow of Washington, D.C., Mason Snow of Boulder City, Murray Snow of Tempe, Ariz., and Jacob Snow of Henderson; one sister, Sandra Madsen of Salt Lake City; one brother, R.J. Snow of Nauvoo, Ill.; and 13 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 90 minutes prior to a 10:30 a.m. service Friday in the 5th Street LDS chapel in Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Lela Thomas
Lela Thomas, 85, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born Feb. 7, 1916, in Ola, Ark. A resident for 62 years, she was a retired seamstress for a local cleaners.
She is survived by four daughters, Evelyin Pruter of North Pole, Alaska, Diane Smith of Suprise, Ariz., and Sherron Bishop and Virginia Elliot, both of Canyon Lake, Calif.; one sister, Hazel Clements of Mount Ida, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Grace S. Torres
Grace S. Torres, 49, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 22, 1951, in French Camp, Calif. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Carlos; one son, Xavier Lozano Jr. of Stockton, Calif.; her mother, Evelyn Ochoa of Henderson; four sisters, Ramona Cardenas of Henderson and Evelyn Sanchez, Paula Wood and Shirley Vallejo, all of Stockton; three brothers, Ernest Vallejo and Frank Canalez, both of Stockton, and Albert Calderon of Las Vegas; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Henderson.
