Free concert set at Whitney Center
The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host a performance by the Good Times Band at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Whitney Ranch Recreation Center, 1575 Galleria Drive.
The performance, music in a variety of genres, including the Big Band sound, oldies but goodies and country tunes, is part of the department's Coffee Shop Sundays fall concert series, which features a different performer each month.
Admission is free. For additional information about upcoming performances hosted by the Henderson Parks and Recreation Department, call 565-2367.
Event scheduled at West LV Arts Center
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, in partnership with the West Las Vegas Arts Center, will present the International Drum Festival 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at the West Las Vegas Library Theatre, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd.
There will be lecture demonstrations, live performances by master percussionists, performing artists, local entertainers, WLVAC Fall 2001 Recital and cultural retail vendors onsite.

McCarran offers tips for airport visitors
McCarran International Airport officials remind holiday travelers that all luggage is subject to search and even wrapping on presents will have to be removed for inspection, airport spokeswoman Debbie Millett said.
Other travel tips include: arriving two to three hours prior to a flight, bringing a valid photo identification and remembering that only one bag and a small personal item will be allowed as carry-on baggage.
