Letter: Highway 95 too dangerous

Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001 | 8:57 a.m.

Even before Sept. 11, traffic on U.S. 95 between Boulder City and the Laughlin turnoff had been increasing. This two-lane highway has been a real safety hazard. People pass unsafely and speed like it is an expressway instead of a two-lane highway.

Now because of all trucks and large vehicles being detoured from Boulder Dam to U.S. 95, the traffic increase is unbearable.

Why can't the state budget and spend money to build passing lanes every few miles until they are willing to widen this dangerous highway to four lanes?

Immediate action is necessary to save lives and reduce accidents on U.S. 95.
