Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001 | 9:51 a.m.
Gov. Kenny Guinn racked up more endorsements for his re-election bid today as both the Las Vegas and Reno chambers of commerce gave their support to the incumbent Republican.
On Wednesday, Guinn received the endorsement of the Asian Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee.
In its endorsement letter, the Asian Chamber's PAC cited Guinn's openness and accessibility to the Asian community and his commitment to education through the Millennium Scholarship program.
"As a governor, you have done so much for the Asian Community in Nevada," the endorsement letter said. "We would like to do everything possible to assist you for your re-election."
Guinn also has received the endorsement of the Nevada Carpenters Union, the Nevada Conference of Police and Sheriffs and Nevada Estate Employees, state employees associated with the AFL/CIO.
